Finding Confidence on the Trail
Today’s ride was one for the books. I started out on a familiar Greenway trail, smooth and easy, the kind of ride that lets you get comfortable and just enjoy being outside. But something in me wanted more. I decided to take a turn onto a mountain bike trail for the first time with my new full suspension bike, and wow, what a difference.
The moment my tires hit the dirt, everything changed. The bumps, the curves, the roots—it all felt alive beneath me. My bike handled it beautifully, and I could actually feel how much more control and confidence it gave me. Every little climb and descent reminded me that growth doesn’t happen when we stay comfortable. It happens when we try something new, even when it’s a little scary.
There were moments I felt unsure of what was ahead, but that’s what made it exciting. I was challenging myself, facing my fears, and realizing I’m capable of more than I thought. By the time I got back to the main trail, I felt lighter, stronger, and proud of myself.
Every ride is teaching me something new, not just about biking but about life too. Confidence comes from doing the thing that scares you until it doesn’t anymore.
