A Little Thankful Moment
There’s something about the night before a Friendsgiving that just feels different. Maybe it’s the quiet hum of anticipation, or maybe it’s the way the house fills with the smell of a dish you’ve made a dozen times—one of your classics, the kind you can almost cook by heart. Tonight, my whole home smells like Thanksgiving, and honestly, that alone makes me feel grateful.
Work can be stressful, life can be heavy, and we all carry things that no one else sees—but moments like this remind me that connection still matters. Tomorrow we gather for our workplace Friendsgiving, a small celebration that gives us a chance to step outside our routines and simply be people sharing food, laughter, and a little warmth. It doesn’t have to be perfect; it just has to be real.
I’m thankful for those small pockets of community—the coworkers who check in, the shared jokes in the hallway, the feeling that for at least one meal, we’re all sitting at the same table in more ways than one. I’m thankful for the little comforts, like a favorite recipe simmering on the stove, and the way it carries memories into the present.
And maybe most of all, I’m thankful for the reminder that even when life has been hard, there are still things worth showing up for—moments that bring us back to ourselves and the people around us.
Here’s to Friendsgiving, to good food, and to appreciating the small but meaningful things that keep us going.
